Our teachers’ pensions continue to support fossil fuel and weapons investment despite widespread calls from students to take action on climate and the horrors caused by weapons.
In 2022 and 2023, BC Teachers’ Federation union representatives voted to divest the teachers’ pension plan from investments in oil and gas. The pension is managed by the BC Investment Management Corporation (BCI). To date, BCI has taken no steps to divest.
Come out and support teachers calling for divestment from fossil fuels and weapons at their union offices: BC Teachers’ Federation Offices, 550, West 6th Avenue, Vancouver.
Programming will include speakers and music.
