Last week the Canada Energy Regulator gave Trans Mountain final approval to to drill a massive 2.6km tunnel through Burnaby Mountain. This reckless decision endangers the tens of thousands of Simon Fraser University students and surrounding residents, and is the latest attempt to bully and bulldoze the TMX Pipeline through the Lower Mainland.

We can’t let them carry on with this disaster!

Throughout the past 10 years, there have been significant delays to pipeline construction when the public is aware and engaged. Because of this, Trans Mountain wants to keep as much of their work hidden or secret.

This weekend we painted two huge banners to alert the community to this imminent danger, and will be using them at a banner drop close to the drill site in North Burnaby this Friday, May 28. This will be one of many actions mobilizing community support to stop the drilling and the pipeline once and for all.
