The United Nations Climate Conference (COP26) takes place in Scotland from October 31 to November 12, and the Trudeau government is once again trying hard to portray itself to the world as a leader on climate action. The facts say this couldn’t be anywhere farther from the truth, and the stakes are too high to let them get away with it.

That’s why we were mobilizing.

– Canada is the only G7 country other than the U.S. where emissions have risen every year since the Paris Climate Agreement

– Out of the G7 nations Canada pollutes the most with 16.85 tonnes of C02 emissions per capita

– The Canadian government subsidized the oil and gas industry with more than 18 billion dollars last year alone

– The government continues to facilitate the TMX and CGL pipelines, which directly violate Indigenous Rights. They would also only be viable if the world misses the minimum climate targets necessary to avoid a complete climate catastrophe

So while world attention is focused on the climate crisis, it’s important for people in Canada to show that the government is lying, and that that the real climate leaders are those fighting to stop the pipelines and demanding real climate justice now.

Please join us on the streets during this crucial time!
